The Art of Jack Howe

Here are some intriguing pieces by artist Jack Howe. I just love art that can be done without a trip to our local chain craft store. My posting has been sporadic due to another run in with an insect. This time a Brown Recluse Spider. I can't believe that I once wanted to be an entymologist. Now I am looking for Orkin in the yellowpages. Anyhow, check out more art of Jack Howe's and avoid these:

Love Jack Howe!

By the way, make sure you get rid of those spiders!!! My friend JoJo's mom had a couple of toes amputated because of a bite from one of those! Apparently they like to make homes in shoes....yuck!

NO SPIDERS!!! Learn to say 'no' to those little guys... Yikes! Orkin, I guess!
Fun to see the artwork and just curious... after all the South Pacific interest, have you painted your stomach and gotten a tattoo yet?

No place to leave a comment on the haka post. Maybe Uriah can incorporate this into his next fight!! Loved it!

PS- Did you see Whale Rider? (set in New Zealand)

Thanks for the post on Howe--and sorry to hear about the bite. One of the little buggers was hiding in my hiking boots when I moved them up here, and popped out to bite me on one of the scars from my heart surgery (from many years earlier)--not a happy combination. Despite the fact that these spiders love this part of the country, nobody seems to know what to do for the bites--and sometimes emergency room guys won't even believe you when you bring the damned spider in with you. Eventually my own doc looked it up in his treatment book and found that Dapsone (used to treat leprosy) is the medication of choice. Sure enough, within 24 hours the pain was gone and the necrotic skin healing. Not sure what would have happened without the drug.

Anyway, Jack Howe's stuff is great--thanks for "finding" him.

Oh, Christy, that's awful! The spider bite, not the art, I mean. Hope you're okay now!
