I drive by the Oklahoma City Museum of Art at least once a week and haven't been to see the Dale Chihuly exhibit yet. His glass work is amazing and so much more than I can describe here. Visit Dale Chihuly here for a feast for the eyes.
Chihuly has some fascinating work. We were fortunate enough to tour the Tacoma Art Museum where he has his Bridge of Glass. I love his glass ceilings, too. Magical
Jellyfish-esque? Kind of. Maybe like giant ink blots where everyone sees it differently. Whatever they are they are very cool. Hey I have a a question (I asked Karen over at A'Musments but she didn't know)The blog name Serenity Now...from Seinfeld? D.
I love this blog--to which I was originally attracted by the title, since I'm a "Serenifly" follower my ownself. Anyway, the "Chihuly Dude" (as he was once called in a CBS Sunday Morning bit) is a favorite of my history of art & design students. The Dallas Museum of Art has a large piece in its Atrium Cafe--and we always congregate there for field trips. Your post makes me want to make the trip north to see this exhibit, so thanks for the inspiration.
There is in every true woman's heart a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity; but which kindles up, and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.-- Washington Irving (1783-1859) American Writer
A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary, man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death."
